Tarte Aux Fruit - Fruit Tart with Pastry Cream
This fruit tart sounds similar to the Tarte Aux Fruits Frais. The difference is that this tart in the picture above is a baked fruit tart and the Tarte Aux Fruits Frais is a fresh fruit tart. So, the other tart shell was blind baked before I filled it. This baked fruit tart is baked with the tart, filling, and fruits altogether in the oven.
Did it taste good? Yes, and it's made with apricot. I like apricots! But seriously, I'm not a fruit person. Okay maybe I'm just not that much of a fruit person? It's definitely the pastry cream that's making me like it.
Ingredients
- tart dough: pate brisee, pate sucree, or pate sablee
- creme patissiere
- cake crumbs
- fruit
- apricot nappage
When I had this, I think I broke the record of how many fruits I have consumed in one week!
